Starting from a blank slate.

Modifying this 3000 square foot, 3 level penthouse in Chicago was an absolute dream. The home already had tremendous natural light, gorgeous oak floors, and stunning rooftop views, so all it needed was a vision. Throughout the home, more natural colors were selected (off whites, greens, beiges, and blues). In addition to painting, we added numerous textures, including houseplants, natural fiber hand-made rugs, and animal skins. More prominent elements and furnishings employed ceramic, glass, natural-toned woods, metals, and distressed leather. The owners had a love of collecting relics and artifacts from their global travels, so care was made to incorporate these into the design to highlight and compliment the space. The words that I used to describe this project were “Organic Modern,” and I feel they convey the space perfectly.
